Amphi-Vac™

Active vacuum protection

Active vacuum protection

for sensitive reservoirs

Amphi-Vac ™ is a patented product that is there to protect pressure-sensitive tanks and reservoirs from harmful negative pressures. Steel and fiberglass tanks as well as slim concrete structures are usually pressure sensitive. In the event of large negative pressures, such a tank risks collapsing. In case of doubt, consult Amphi-tech® for assessment or control calculation. We can also customize the product for special needs.

When the water level drops in a reservoir, air is sucked in to replace the drained volume. In normal cases, the air flow passes through an air filter, but if the filter becomes clogged, negative pressure arises in the reservoir. For this reason, all Amphi-Vent air filters are equipped with a mechanical pressure fuse that trips at 3500 Pa, which is adapted for most normal concrete constructions.

Amphi-Vac™

In the event of large negative pressures, a tank risks collapsing

Amphi-Vac ™ has an electronically controlled damper that opens automatically when the negative pressure in the reservoir reaches a preset value between 300 and 2400 Pa. The pressure in the reservoir is continuously monitored and compared with the ambient air pressure. To ensure the function and for increased service life, regular exercise of the damper is performed automatically.
